OPEN RECORDS REQUEST
In accordance with the Texas Public Information Act (Texas Government Code, Chapter 552), citizens have the right to request access to public records maintained by the Bosque County Sheriff’s Office, including information related to cases and arrests.
To request records, individuals must complete the appropriate request form and clearly identify the information being sought. While the Sheriff’s Office is committed to transparency, certain information may be withheld or redacted as permitted by law—particularly in cases involving ongoing investigations, confidential information, or other statutory exceptions. If records cannot be released at the time of the request, they may become available at a later date in accordance with state law.
Upon receipt of a written request, the Bosque County Sheriff’s Office will promptly process the request in accordance with the Texas Public Information Act. If the requested information cannot be produced within 10 business days, the requestor will be notified of the reason for the delay and provided with an estimated date of availability.
If the Sheriff’s Office believes that requested information is excepted from disclosure, it may seek a ruling from the Office of the Texas Attorney General. In such cases, the requestor will be notified, and the Attorney General will determine whether the information may be withheld under applicable law.
