Justices of the Peace (JP), commonly referred to as “JP Courts,” serve as the presiding judges over Justice Courts and Small Claims Courts in Texas. They have jurisdiction over Class C misdemeanors, issue arrest warrants, and serve as magistrates for both adult and juvenile offenders. Justices of the Peace are also responsible for conducting inquests into certain types of deaths.

If you are inquiring about a possible warrant for a traffic citation or other criminal offense, you must appear in person at the Bosque County Sheriff’s Office with valid identification to check your status.

For privacy and security reasons, warrant information will not be released over the phone by dispatchers or office personnel.
